Edgewater is a census-designated place (CDP) in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, with a population of 9,446 as of the 2020 census. Located 8 miles south of Annapolis, 30 miles east of Washington D.C., and 34 miles south of Baltimore, Edgewater offers convenient access to major metropolitan areas while maintaining its suburban charm.

Situated southwest of Annapolis on the south side of the tidal South River, Edgewater is bordered by Mayo to the east, Riva to the west, and Lothian to the south. Across the South River to the north lie the communities of Parole and Annapolis Neck. Edgewater is often considered a suburb of Annapolis due to its close proximity and continued development, which includes expanding retail and residential areas.
